Maynooth is a small hamlet located just north of Bancroft, Ontario and Southeast of the world famous Algonquin Park. The area is known as Canada's Mineral Capital because of the diversity of minerals and gems. Maynooth Natural Granite is found in a glacial deposit formed of these rocks and sand during the last ice age. The granite rocks themselves are some of the oldest in the world, indeed in excess of 1 billion years. They have been metamorphosed (exposed to extreme pressure and temperature), mixing in a large range of minerals to create unique and colourful rocks. The incredible forces of the last ice age has finely crafted these rocks. Maynooth Natural Granite is a venture formed in 2012 to bring these exceptional rock and aggregates to market.
